POC: Doug Hirth, Carroll District, Scouting Open House Chair

It’s that time of year again!!!

The summer is starting to fade and school is on the horizon.   That means it’s time to start Cub Scout recruitment.  Doug Hirth is off and running getting our recruitment nights lined up.   Join us on Tuesday, August 14, at 6:45 PM at Cub Scout Roundtable.   Be sure your Cubmaster, Committee Chair or Pack Membership Chair is at the August Roundtable to pick up your recruitment materials and talk about Cub Scout recruitment.

We urge every Pack leader to call their recruiting school and make an appointment with your principal or vice-principal.  Discuss what event your Pack can recruit at - ice cream social, back to school picnic, meet the teacher - determine what events your Pack can meet families to join your Pack.

Recruitment flyers will be provided to each Pack for school recruitment by our BSA District Executive, Jeff Griffin.   You will need a contact name and phone number for families on your flyers.   Be sure we have the correct name of your leader for your Pack’s recruitment flyers.

If your Cubmaster or Pack Committee Chair changed since May, a NEW APPLICATION is required.  Be sure to submit that application at Roundtable.

YOUTH PROTECTION REQUIREMENT:  Per new BSA requirements, all new leader applications this fall must include a copy of their Youth Protection certificate.  If they are a new leader, their existing certificate expired, or they cannot find their certification card they will need to take 1 hour online Youth Protection Training.  New leaders can sign in as guests and then later update their profile with their new BSA membership number.

We look forward to seeing everyone and to celebrate we’ll kick-off with an ice cream social!
