Klondike Derby: An Avalanche of Adventure
NOTE: Maps are available below, along with Cub Scout Station summaries.
The Klondike Derby is open to ALL Cubs, Boy Scouts, and Venturers. We will have separate courses for Cubs and Boy Scouts/Venturers. For older youth (13 and up), we also have a High Adventure Klondike option; this is a multi-part event which begins on FRIDAY EVENING.
As always, we ask units to register to help with stations. If you have an idea for a station, please let us know! If you have manpower but need an idea, no problem – we’ve got a long list of possible station ideas!
We are requiring that each unit provide two adults for two hours each to help with parking and/or inspection. We will do our best to meet requests for preferred time slots.
BOY SCOUT Site selection for stations and camping: Saturday, January 14, 1 pm. Meet by the back pavilion.
CUB SCOUT Site selection for stations: Sunday, January 15, 1 pm. Meet by the soccer fields.
If you are unable to attend, please contact the appropriate area chair to make other arrangements.
PLEASE CARPOOL! There are many cars coming in and out of the area, especially at the start of the day. We’d like to keep the good will of the park and the local area, so let’s try to cut down on the traffic.
Registration deadline (including payment) is Tuesday, December 13. Special Deal: All registrations with payment received by Tuesday, November 8 will receive $1 off every person’s registration fee! Plan ahead and save money!

Order of the Arrow Food Tent
Hungry? Order of the Arrow will again be selling breakfast and lunch at the Klondike Derby. This year the OA is offering advance purchase meal tickets - for $4, you get a main dish (burger, hot dog, chili dog, OR large bowl of chili), a bag of chips, and a drink (soda, water, coffee or hot chocolate). At breakfast time, you can redeem the coupon for a breakfast sandwich, a donut, and a drink. Better yet, you get to avoid the long line of cash customers - a special line will be set up for coupon-holders only!
