Each spring, Carroll District sponsors a district wide Pinewood Derby. All scouts from the district are invited and compete against scouts from other district units. Its a great chance to get a few more runs out of you car and to have a great time with other scouts from around the district.

04 April 2008: We have a location! Ascension Episcopal Church in Westminster
Thanks to some quick thinking by a kind scouter not on the DPW committee (sort of easy to figure that out!), Ascension agreed to let us use their facilities for the Derby. We will be using the large dining hall on the first floor. Park in the lot, enter the door to the left, and head straight down the hall on the left.
Ascensionis located at 23 N Court St. in Westminster. You can use a GPS, you favorite map software, or just go to the courthouse, turn right, and drive through the alley to find it.
Times: We'll open the doors at noon for registration and weigh in. Racing starts at 12:30, more or less, and we'll run until 3:00 if there are enough folks. If we run out of racers, we'll end early.
Rules: All cars must be made from standard BSA Pinewood Derby Kits and comply with all the rules in the box. Additionally, no graphite will be allowed on site and once a car is registered and weighed it may not be touched again except by race officials until all racing ends.
