Klondike Derby: An Avalanche of Adventure

NOTE: Maps are available below, along with Cub Scout Station summaries.

The Klondike Derby is open to ALL Cubs, Boy Scouts, and Venturers. We will have separate courses for Cubs and Boy Scouts/Venturers. For older youth (13 and up), we also have a High Adventure Klondike option; this is a multi-part event which begins on FRIDAY EVENING.

As always, we ask units to register to help with stations. If you have an idea for a station, please let us know! If you have manpower but need an idea, no problem – we’ve got a long list of possible station ideas!

We are requiring that each unit provide two adults for two hours each to help with parking and/or inspection. We will do our best to meet requests for preferred time slots.

BOY SCOUT Site selection for stations and camping: Saturday, January 14, 1 pm. Meet by the back pavilion.

CUB SCOUT Site selection for stations: Sunday, January 15, 1 pm. Meet by the soccer fields.

If you are unable to attend, please contact the appropriate area chair to make other arrangements.

Crew 202 recently won recognition as a Baltimore Ravens Honor Rows awardee for their community service.  They get to go to Ravens game on Christmas Eve, go on field with players, and be recognized during the game.

WBAL Channel 11 TV is also going to do a special story on the Crew and its .  The TV crew will be coming to the Crew's big tree planting on November 12th at Freedom Park.  The plan is to air the story on November 17th likely as part of the evening news.

The Governor and head of DNR have been invited and the Chesapeake Bay Trust is also sending a crew to video the event.

This is a great chance for the public to see Scouting at its best and would love to get a huge turnout.  We are strongly encouraging as many Scouting units to attend for a good representation of Carroll County Scouting!
